AYA is an amazing massage therapist, her warm and caring nature shines from deep within. She commissioned a set of 4 sake glasses as an anniversary gift for her husband in 2015. As the glasses are all free form blown and sculpted, 30 pieces were made so that she could choose the ones she thought fit best together. The rest were sold at subsequent shows and only a few are left.
ADAM has been my teacher since 2010 and runs regular classes from his studio in Surrey. This is one of the many different colour mixes made up ready to go in trays for students to pick and choose for their pieces.
The name WATER FAIRY was inspired from the wispy patterns which reminded me of the flowing robes of deities/goddesses flying out of the lake, as portrayed in Chinese folklore & legends.
Growing up on a steady diet of Hong Kong's Kung Fu films, my sister & my favourite fighting style was Zui Quan (Drunken Fist) which we tried to replicate, peppered with laughter. The moves deliberately resemble the actions of an inebriate and surprisingly effective in taking down the opponent.
DRUNKEN MASTER is inspired by the art of imbibing without the pressure of having to see straight - the glassware flows and dips in unison with your expert moves!
FLOW
TAMMY is a big personality with an even bigger heart, her infectious laugh from deep within and charming smile leaves no prisoners. She bought 2 glasses from the Aya series in different shapes, then commissioned another 2 in pink and purple colour mix to add to her eclectic mix.
